Wow, it's been awhile!

Yikes--time has really gotten way from all of us lately!  Finn is now over 11 months, crawling around like crazy, and pulling himself to standing every chance he gets.  This morning, he was standing in his crib, crying, to wake us up.
He's learning that he can pretty much charm his way out of everything with his little smile!  When his dad and I try to tell him no, he shakes his head back and forth really fast and just smiles.  He is saying Dada now...hopefully Mama is not far behind!
We are in the process of purchasing a bigger home right now, so we hope he'll be able to explore there and wear himself out.  He seems to be tireless sometimes!  He's still bowing raspberries at everyone he sees.  That seems to have replaced the cute little wave he used to do.
Here is a recent pic of the little guy.  His first pizza~ he is definitely his father's child when it comes to pizza!  We're taking a little mini-vacation next week, so hopefully we'll be able to show off some first-pool pics then:)

Today's Art Project

Today we went to breakfast at Jorge's, and Finn ate like a long-haul trucker...banana, cheerios, potatoes, scone...he literally will eat anything we put in front of him!  I've caught him three or four times in the last couple of days trying to let Abby "taste" his food first, and then he tries to eat it. Abby loves the arrangement, but I'm not too happy with it!

Finn also starting clapping his hands, without us modeling it first.  We've also been working a little more with the signing, especially about eating and drinking.

We did some finger painting (and high-chair painting, face painting, paint eating...) this morning.  As you can see by the video, he's not too good about focusing his energy just yet! Just click on the arrow below the video and it will play.

Tomorrow, Dad and Finn get to spend MLK day together.  They've promised to produce a number of masterworks.  To me, that means to expect a master disaster when I get home.

The week of January 14th

Not too much new going on right now.  Finn has learned that he can feed Abby from his high chair, so needless to say, Abby is quite pleased.  She is NOT pleased, however, that he can now crawl around and chase her! He's doing a military-style crawl, but he is SO fast.  I can turn around, and he'll be behind a chair.
He is really enjoying standing up too, holding on to the ottoman for support.  he then plays "drop the 'mote", where he takes all of the remotes and throws them on the floor.  Little does he know, 2 of them don't even have batteries in them.  I think he's going to be a smart kiddo, though, because he always grabs the correct remote to turn up the volume.  I'm including a bath picture from this last week.  He loves his new inflatable bathtub, and thinks it's really funny to splash water all over the place.
He is just changing every single day!  I should include a section called "the many faces of Finn", because he has happy faces, thoughtful faces (usually with his tongue sticking out a little bit). grumpy faces, etc.  He's really becoming his own little self now.  He's getting a sense of humor, too.  If we make a funny face or funny sound, he sometimes makes a somewhat-fake sounding laugh, like he is just catering to our egos.
Aaron is trying to figure out where he'd like to run his next marathon.  He's brought up a few European cities, and then we talk about how long the flight would be for Finn...so he'll probably find one in the US. Hopefully it will be near water, so we can get the little kiddo in the water to swim!  Anyone else up for a vacation this year?
Well, that's it for now.  Finn is due to wake up shortly from his extra nap, which he really needed when we picked him up from the nanny today! Hope all is well for everyone.

What we've been up to

Today Finn went to his little girlfriend Savita's first birthday party! It was at a Middle-Eastern restaurant, so Finn enjoyed hummus and pita, and curried veggies... we'll see what the diapers look like tomorrow!  He also had his first chocolate cake, which explains the lack of an afternoon nap :)

Tomorrow, he may get to go out in the jogging stroller for his first run with Dad!

Hello!  This blog has been created to help all of Finn's Grandmas and Grandpas and relatives and friends see him grow, since we can't be nearby.  We will try to update as often as possible, and catch as many of his 'firsts' as we can.  Welcome!

Finn and Abby

This is Finn with his best friend Abby.  She's the greatest dog a little boy could ever hope for.  She doesn't mind when he tugs on her fur and tail, because she gets to lick food from his face and hands.  It's a fair trade.

Finn Meets Balloon

This is Finn with his first balloon at Savita's birthday party.  He had fun batting the balloon around.
